Rules - FAQ
Note on rules: Rules were meant to be broken, when a conflict arises, always follow the rule on the card(s) not the rule in the book.
Q: What is the difference between "Ranged" and "Long Range"?
A: "Ranged" is simply a type of damage, no different from Melee or Frost while "Long Range" is a special ability which prevents a defender from doing damage in return. "Long Range" will be denoted directly in the power field of the card text.
Q: Can a Hero or Ally attack multiple times in one turn?
A: Yes, In special situations. Because combat is handled in a one-by-one basis you can declare your attackers in any order when you feel good and ready to do so. If you find a way to re-ready a Hero or Ally in a turn in which it just attacked, it is free to attack again.
Q: If I play a Warrior Hero but stack my deck with Warlock allies can I play Warlock abilities?
A: No, ability restrictions pertain to Heroes not Allies.
Q: Does my Hero need a weapon to attack?
A: No, but typically this is how you will add ATK and to a hero. Attacking and doing zero damage is perfectly legal, nonsensical yes, but legal. There are other cards that will add ATK to an attacking unit which can also be used.
Q: Is it possible to create a situation where a spell has a negative casting cost or negative strike cost?
A: No, the lowest value for any cost in the game is zero.
Q: Is armor destroyed once it prevents the maximum amount of damage it can defend (DEF)?
A: No, armor is not destroyed in this manner.
Q: Do token allies such as totems, whelps and others go to the graveyard when they die?
A: Yes, tokens hit the graveyard then ceases to exist.
Q: What does it mean to "heal from target", do I pick another ally or hero and damage them to heal my character?
A: No, to heal an amount of damage from a character is to remove that many damage counters from it. Remember that when a character takes damage it is not reducing its life counters, it is adding damage counters. It's a subtle difference but remembering this can help understand the nomenclature.
